Richard E Black was born in Beach City, OH on March 22, 1934. He gave his first talk at the age of 12. Brother Black preached for congregations of the Lord's church in California, Texas, Oklahoma, and Arkansas. He married Martha Jane Wallace on 10454. They were married for 44 years until the passing of brother Black on 6498. He edited the Torch of Truth magazine for many years. He has six children and five grandchildren.
