On the way back from Llandudno we called in at the Rhyl M.R. we had heard that it was the Gala weekend so it was a no brainer.
A bonus for me also was that the Loco "Billie" was running, this loco came from the old Dreamland fair ground track at Margate. This a railway as a child I would spend every penny of my pocket money on. Lovely memories. You could keep all the fair ground rides, it was the railway I was interested in.
Sadly we missed the Cavalcade of the four steam loco's hauling the last trains, on reflection they must have been setting it up as we were leaving.
