3,000 hours of sunshine a year have been attracting vacationers and package tourists to Rhodes in the Greek Aegean since the 1970s. The island in Greece is also worthwhile for individual travelers. Tamina Kallert explores Rhodes on her own: from the medieval Rhodes town in the north to the (kite) surfer's paradise of Prasonisi in the south.

You will find bed castles on the beach of Faliraki and luxury bathing holidays in front of the fairytale Kallithea Therme. On a trip to the mountains, Tamina Kallert stumbles upon a historic Alpinestyle hotel, in Kopria she braves a cliff jump, and near Anthony Quinn Bay she gazes far at the stars in a private observatory. Tamina Kallert has a special experience on the somewhat rougher west side: first she sees dolphins up close, then she swims with huge schools of fish.
