I spend a week with the 2022 Acura MDX Type S to see if Acura has been successful with blending the performance expected from Type S with the luxury that is expected from a performance luxury SUV these days. Overall, they mostly succeed, with topnotch luxury features and solid acceleration and handling, relatively speaking. But some Type S fans may be let down by the slightly softer setup of the MDX Type S compared to the TLX Type S or other past Type S models. As long as your performance expectations aren't too high, the MDX Type S should be a great solution to those looking for a fun daily driver that can still seat 7 comfortably while also being reasonablypriced.
