A few days ago was the 7 year anniversary of my Table Mountain accident. That accident had a very profound impact on my life and in the last 7 years of recovery I have had many moments where I wasn’t sure I could continue living my life’s passion, BASE jumping. The accident filled me with pain and the fear is built into me now. Today I finally jumped from Table Mountain again and I was truly terrified. I was surprised how afraid I was. The jump is safe, I have done many more complicated jumps since the accident but for some reason I just couldn’t get out of my own head. 95% of this sport is mental and today I really had to push hard to get through to the other side. I truly believe I am where I am today because I just won’t give up. No matter how hard life knocks me to the ground I stand back up. This was important for me and I am so happy I had my loving girlfriend @alydemayo and my best friend @iiroseppanen there with me to share the experience.
