When your goals are tied to someone else’s life it is 1000x harder to be lazy. It's easy to not talk to your prospects when you're only doing it for yourself. But imagine you decide to have the goal of retiring your parents who work hard every single day and have been doing so for decades, with each extra month that they work their mental and physical health deteriorates ever so slightly. Now if that won't get you out of bed in the morning after 2 hours of sleep I don't know what will.
