Replacing A Worn Out Attic Fan Motor With A New One In A Very Restricted Work Space

This video shows the inspection and replacement of a fan motor used in an attic exhaust fan. This was not a particularity difficult job but it was complicated by the very restricted space that there was to work in.
Since this attic space does not have the height to stand up in I found that I needed to work off of a ladder and lean over the trusses to get this done and that made it an uncomfortable task.

While recording this video I made an error while reconfiguring the original motor wiring. This was not required for the motor replacement but I wanted to add a ground that had not been installed in the original installation. The error could have easily have been edited out but, since it did not cause any issue with the finished job, I left that in for education purposes.

This job does require working with electric circuits so be sure to take the necessary safety precautions. Hopefully you can do better at that than I did here. I am not a licensed electrician or other trade professional and am not attempting to dispense professional advice. I am simply an avid DIY'er and these videos show my experiences.

I hope you find something useful here and thanks for watching.
