Ji Baocheng, president of Renmin University, was the inventor of Bo Xilai’s theoretical model of “singing revolutionary songs and fighting the criminal group” in Chongqing. When Bo Xilai was in charge of Chongqing, he wanted to build a theoretical framework. After failing to collaborate with Peking University, he found Ji Baocheng, and the two sides hit it off. Unfortunately, while Renmin University was holding the Chongqing Model Exhibition, Bo Xilai was arrested. How can foreign university ranking agencies identify and analyse such internal activities of Chinese universities? Therefore, it is correct and timely for Renmin University to withdraw from the QS ranking.
