Congratulations! Your trademark has Registered!

One thing that makes trademarks great, is that so long as you use them they never expire so long as you remember to renew them.

Trademarks are renewed five years following registration, then the tenth year following registration, then every tenth year afterwards.

At the first renewal (year 5), you'll want to file a Petition for Incontestability in addition to an Affidavit of Use.

At the following renewals (year 10, 20, 30, etc) , you'll only need to file an Affidavit of Use.

When filing the Affidavit of Use to keep your trademark Registered, you must submit samples of the mark being used in commerce, and submitting the right sample(s) is critical. So, be sure to work with a trademark attorney to make sure yours if filed correctly.
