The TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitor System) light was on because my spare tire was low in air. After filling the tire it was easy to hear the rim leaking air.

This led to lowering the spare and finding it frozen, rusted, and stuck.

The spare had to be safely cut out and lowered by cutting the cable and supporting the carrier and tire.

I originally thought the carrier was only two bolts and quickly learned it was SIX!

All of the carrier bolts are 12 mm but The two outer bolts had to be drilled out due to corrosion and access.

After the two outer bolts were removed the remaining four were much easier.

This was a difficult job but a small die grinder would have helped.

The new hoist will be easy to install because new bolts will be ordered.

The plan is to get the spare repaired or replaced and order a new hoist and bolts.
