The remains of two of the last known Beothuk people, who are Indigenous to Newfoundland and became extinct after contact with Europeans, were returned to the province earlier this week after almost two centuries in Scotland.
The surprise announcement came Wednesday, when a special ceremony was held in St. John's involving the premier and indigenous leaders from Newfoundland and Labrador.
