Need some down time, relax with some eagles and resonator guitar from the Cariboo. All these Eagles were filmed over the summer of 2024 around various lakes, rivers and meadows across the Cariboo. (mostly lakes and rivers). I hope you enjoy a little of the wildlife and serenity that is a key part of the Cariboo.

Relax with Eagles in the Cariboo along with some original music from Mark Schiemann.

Mark Schiemann is a Musician, Artist, Animator and Photographer living in a small town in the heart of the Cariboo, British Columbia.
His love for the Cariboo and his love of guitars and music are being combined on this channel in hopes of bringing forth his passion for both. Wildlife and Birds are his favorite subjects to photograph or film, landscapes and nature being his second. However, put anything in front of him and he’s likely to snap a few pics.
His music is inspired by the beauty of the Cariboo and it’s inhabitants and is mostly played on acoustic or resonator guitar. Instrumentals are his specialty.
If you're an Outdoors type or a Birder (Birdwatcher), a Wildlife Enthusiast or a Guitar Player or anyone else for that matter. please come along for the adventure.
If guitar is less of your thing, please watch my Youtube shorts featuring local Cariboo Wildlife and Scenery.

Located in Williams Lake, British Columbia, Canada.

The Cariboo is a spectacular region located in British Columbia, Canada.
It covers an area of 131,286 square kilometers and has a population of 66,291 people as of 20230701. That is approximately 1.9 square kilometers per person.
It's incredibly varied terrain and ecosystems are home to a myriad of wildlife, including many favorites like Bear, Deer and Moose, Eagles and Hawks are also a common sight.
When combined with it's sister region the Chilcotin, as the two areas are connected both physically and historically, you have one of the most beautiful regions on the entire planet.
Reaching from the Shores of the Pacific to an elevation of 3,516 m in the Cariboo Mountains the Cariboo/Chilcotin contains over 8000 lakes, including Quesnel Lake, the deepest fjord lake in the World. Add to that the Fraser river, the Nemaiah Valley, Beaver Valley, Cedar point, Chasm, The Cariboo and Chilcotin rivers.. and so many small communities like Horsefly and Likely and Barkerville and... and... and.... I just don't have enough room here.
Hot summers and Cold winters make it a fantastic place to visit but the same can make living here difficult. Long distances, Mosquito season, the odd 38c (100F) day in the summer, snow, ice and the odd 45c ( 49F )day in the winter all make the Cariboo a challenging place to live.
It's offering of outdoor activities, beauty and wildlife can make it worthwhile though.
The Cariboo was named so as early as 1861 when Governor Douglas sent dispatches about the area to Britain. It is thought that it was named so for the many Caribou that lived in the area at the time and it was simply misspelling that caused it to be named the Cariboo instead of the Caribou.
Unfortunately the Caribou number much lower then they did in those days and the Cariboo's population of Caribou numbers just over a thousand.
