As the next generation of the Castilian Monarchy takes power, the war of reconquest against Islamic Spain advances to a new level. Ferdinand III of Castile, a warrior king who is descended from a line of warrior kings, launches a powerful attack on Al Andalus. In his campaigns he takes Cordoba and Seville. In doing so, he nearly completes the Reconquista leaving only Granada as the last remaining Muslim state.
