READING PET FOOD LABELS IS EASY when you know what pet food ingredients to look out for. In this video, I go over 10 pet food labels and show you how you can choose dry dog food and cat food on the fly. Pet food label can be deceiving, so you want to understand pet food labels before you try to speed read them like I did. In particular, you want to really understand what pet food ingredients actually mean, so what meat byproducts, meat meal, and other buzzwords meal.

Obviously, raw food is best for dogs (and the raw diet is best for cats as well). Dry food for cats is really not ideal, just as it isn’t for dogs, mostly because kibble contains bad ingredients for cats and for dogs that can be downright harmful for cats and for dogs. So if possible, skip kibble for cats and go with raw feeding for dogs and raw cat food, too. It doesn’t necessarily have to be homemade cat food and homemade dog food, you can find excellent raw food companies that you can buy food from.
