12. Cornish Rex
Are you a cat person? Well, If you have a Cornish Rex you gotta be. Unlike a lot of other cats that are completely fine with not getting a lot of attention, these athletic felines LOVE to spend time with their humans. They’re extremely playful!

11. Manx
From Rex to Manx, the next on our list is similar to the Rex in that it is also a domestic cat. There is a wonderful legend that surrounds the origin of this breed. Not exactly genetically accurate, but fun, the Manx was napping peacefully when Noah called all the animals into the ark. She woke up just as Noah was closing the door of the ark. She made it just in time but Noah accidentally closed the door on her tail, cutting it off entirely.

10. Siberian
Next, we move onto the adorable and glamorous longerhaired breed the Siberian. These Russian cats have been known to civilization for about 1000 years and have a long, thick coat which was possibly an outcome of the cold climate of the Siberian forests that the cats would have lived in. Despite their long coats, they are actually hypoallergenic which makes them the perfect pet for someone who suffers from a cat allergy. Also, they love to cuddle and follow you around, whether you want them to or not.

9. British Shorthair
Next up is the first shorthair on our list and this is the British Shorthair. These wideeyed cuties are obviously popular due to how cute they are with their innocent, chubby expressions that always make them look curious and excited at the same time. The best known colour variant for this breed is the British Blue which is a bluegrey tinge which makes them all the more interesting to look at.

8. Japanese Bobtail
From Shorthair to Bobtail, next up on our list is the Japanese Bobtail. As is implied by the name, the Japanese Bobtail originated from Japan about 1000 years ago.
Similarly to the Manx, these felines are well known and named after their cute little tails which look like fluffy pompoms at the end of their tail. Aw fluffy whittle bob.

7. Kurilian Bobtail
From one Bobtail to another, we move to the Kurilian Bobtail. These cute kitties love to play in the water, which isn’t that surprising given the semicobby cats originate from the Russian Peninsula of Kamchatka and similarly to the Japanese Bobtail, they have fluffy little tails which are more fitting for a rabbit.

6. Colorpoint Shorthair
Remember the Siamese cats in Lady and the Tramp? These kitties are very similar, and most of the time you can’t tell them apart. They love to play with almost anything. A wad of paper could keep them busy for hours. They’re sensitive to their owners moods, they’re more than happy to hang around you all day and purr words of encouragement.

5. Devon Rex
We’ve already spoken about the Cornish Rex and we now move to the Devon Rex, which is pretty much their neighbour as the SouthWestern counties in England are right next to each other. But much like their feud about which order to place cream and jam on a scone in, these counties had to have their own type of Rex; both of which are equally rare.

4. Egyptian Mau
The Egyptian Mau is one of the most exotic looking cats on our list so far. Their spotted coats link them to their biggest cat pals such as cheetahs and their fur pattern isn’t all that they share with them. They also have a very cheetahlike gait when they run due to their long legs. Beneath their legs, they also have a flap of skin which stretches and can bend to ensure the highest amount of agility when they’re running and jumping.

3. Norweigan Forest Cat
These forest cats have an extremely thick fur coat which is perfect for keeping them warm and making them look like the cuddliest cats we’ve had on our list so far. They have this thick fur so that they can deal with their colder climate of their original home, Norway.

2. Sphynx
These wrinkled cats are the best for anyone who may have an allergy but still want to have a cat to dote upon due to their completely bare skin but what are they really like?

1.Peterbald
At first glance, they look very similar to a sphynx but when you look closer, they are very unique from the other breeds we’ve mentioned. They’re actually the result of experimental breeding that was carried out in St. Petersburg, Russia in the 90s which means they haven’t been in circulation for much time at all in comparison to some of our more ancient breeds.
