After struggling to maintain grades at his university, Andrew Wilson made the decision to leave college and join the United States Army in search of purpose and direction. After completing his aptitude tests Wilson learned he qualified for OCS and thus began his path on becoming an Army Officer.
After completing Ranger School, Wilson yearned for combat and volunteered to go to Vietnam. After arriving in country Wilson was attached to the 1st Infantry Division and would begin learning firsthand what it took to lead soldiers in combat.
