There is a reason why we say, “breeds like a rabbit!” Rabbits are crazy fertile from a very young age. In our case of New Zealand White, we are talking 6 months for the Doe and 7 months for the buck.

However, in order to ensure the best health of your rabbits, it is best to wait until they reach full body and reproductive maturity before breeding.

You can try to breed your rabbits a little earlier, say 4.55 months but waiting is worth it – your rabbits will be much more productive, or perhaps “reproductive,” if you are patient and wait until they are ready!
