Best Picture nominee Bohemian Rhapsody is a true story based on the life of singer Freddie Mercury. Mercury was friends with another band member Tim Staffell. Staffell introduced Mercury to his bandmates, and although Mercury tried to talk them into letting him join the band, the boys resisted.
