On June 2, 2018, nearly 600 of over 9,000 online graduates took part in Purdue University Global’s first Commencement Ceremony, held at the Rosemont Theatre outside Chicago. Purdue Global Chancellor Betty Vandenbosch presided over the event, with Purdue University President Mitch Daniels adding his own personal message to the students: “We are especially proud today to be part of the advent of this new expansion of our historic landgrant mission of Purdue University. Congratulations to those of you who are our first graduates.” Kaplan Chairman and CEO Andy Rosen delivered the ceremony’s keynote address, echoing President Daniel’s message, adding that Purdue Global’s goal is to “help everyone earn their place at the table of opportunity.”
