Brie, my Briard, came into my life when she was 8weeks old. Currently, she is 5monthsold. Socialization period is between birth and approximately 4months of age. I recommend that families focus on socialization during this important time. It’s also a good time to use praise, toys, and food (Marker Training) to introduce puppy to how to control "body movements".

In this video, teaching how to hold a leash and guide a dog to walk. In addition, a little grooming segment with Brie.

Grooming Brie. Briards are double coated long hair dogs that are grooming intensive. This breeds also has double dewclaws on the back lack as well as single dewclaws on the front legs. Nail care is extremely important over the lifetime of this breed.

I also have a standard poodle which I also groom and I would rate Brie’s grooming not as substantial as a poodle because of the frequency of grooming. My standard poodle (Ruby 6years old) gets groomed and bathed every 23 weeks. Ear care on a poodle is mandatory to prevent ear infections. Ruby, gets her ears plucked and washed out with Ecoears solution. Ruby has never had an ear infection.

In addition to training I enjoy grooming my own personal dogs!
