BRIEF DESCRIPTION:
The brief was to propose a new school campus that would serve four existing schools. The given site already had one school running and would now cater to three additional schools. The medium of education in each school is different English, Hindi, Urdu and Marathi. Hence, each school would continue to function independently while sharing facilities like laboratories, play area, etc. The development authority's intention was to upgrade the infrastructural facilities for these schools while keeping the costs within budget.
The proposed design for the three new schools has been envisioned with its own classroom units looped around separate circular courtyards. These courtyards provide a private assembly space for each school. The three cylindrical school masses are linked on the ground and 1stfloor levels where shared facilities like laboratories and dining areas have been located. The view from each school opens up towards the open common school field and also towards the distant hills on the western side.
A new Open Air Theatre has also been proposed at the northwestern corner.
