Promoting Japanese seafood at Toyosu Market
On February 19, 2024 at Toyosu Market in Tokyo, the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries of Japan held an event to promote Japanese seafood to ambassadors from ASEAN member states.
In the event, the Minister Sakamoto Tetsushi and the invited ambassadors observed a tuna auction and visited the intermediate wholesale market. The participants showed keen interests in scallops from Hokkaido and sea cucumbers and yellowtails from the Hokuriku region where the Noto Peninsula Earthquake struck. With lectures by a fish and shellfish expert and the seafood tasting, ties of friendship blossomed between ASEAN countries and Japan.
