They were open about homosexuality in a time when that not only wasn't excepted, but was borderline illegal. The bold, outspokeness of the Tom Robinson Band took a certain kind of tenacity and a bullheadedness that you only find in the punkrock community, and that's what makes this band of misfits so inspirational to the rock world of the Loosies Universe.
