The Price of Retribution was the very first book I ever wrote. It took me three and a half years to research and write and is extensively based on actual historical events surrounding the arrival of the First Fleet 11 British ships that took the first British colonists and convicts to Australia including their various trials and tribulations.

Like many first books, it was far from my best work. I toyed with not including it here at all, but I think where the narrative fell short in certain areas of writing ability, the story itself is still one of my favourite stories.

Interestingly, a good friend of mine married the greatgreat granddaughter of the famous explorer, Gregory Blaxland who appears in this story. When researching for this book, I have had the pleasure of reading his journal from his famed expedition to cross the Blue Mountains that guarded the prosperous western plains.
