The ultimate day of calamity will come when you’re standing before God and watching all you’ve achieved – your status, your wealth – go up in smoke. And as you watch it fade away, you will find no reason at all for God to accept you as one of His own.

But if you’ve trusted Christ as your personal Savior, there’s no need to fear that day. “Be patient,” James says, “strengthen your hearts, for the coming of the Lord is near.”
