At the end of October, Indonesia’s Maritime Security Agency, Bakamla, released video of China’s coast guard being expelled from Jakarta's exclusive economic zone (EEZ) in the southern reaches of the South China Sea. Indonesia calls these waters within its EEZ the North Natuna Sea, but they are also claimed by China. Just days before, Prabowo Subianto was sworn in as Indonesia’s new president. On Nov 8, Prabowo is set to meet Chinese leader Xi Jinping in Beijing for his first overseas visit since taking office.
