Look, the situation of classical music metadata is a mess.
Pop song titles are pretty simple and straightforward: "Imagine John Lennon". And that's it.

However, when it comes to classical music, we find things like:
"Symphony No. 3 in Eflat major, Opus 55, Eroica, Movement 1, Allegro con Brio, Berlin Philharmonic, Herbert Von Karajan, Ludwig van Beethoven."

Bear in mind that this title represents just ONE movement of a piece, and classical pieces often contain 34 movements or more.

How did we reach this point? What's the history and meaning behind all the title information? The story is more nuanced and captivating than one might think. Let's dive deeper.

The inspiration for this video stemmed from an event at the Apple Store in Sol (Madrid), where Apple unveiled the Apple Music Classical app. I was privileged to speak alongside the renowned classical guitarist, Pablo Sáinz Villegas. We discussed classical music metadata and the challenges faced when browsing its catalogs on conventional streaming platforms. We've since transformed that discussion into a video for all you to see.
