PMBOK 7: 7th Edition of the PMI's Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge - with Nader Rad

Follow
Online PM Courses - Mike Clayton

Nader Rad is a member of the Core Team that put together PMBOK 7, the 7th Edition of the PMBOK Guide. He'll tell us what he thinks of the changes.

Nader Rad
Nader K Rad started working with projects over 20 years ago: first, as a project planner in construction projects, and then in large processplant projects. In parallel, he was also involved in IT projects and startups, moving from project planning into project management. He went on to help companies improve their project, program, and portfolio management systems.

Now, he spends most of his time contributing to standards (P3.express, NUPP, PRINCE2®, PRINCE2 Agile®, and the PMBOK® Guide), and developing eLearning courses in the company he runs with Frank Turley, Management Plaza.

Among those standards is the PMI’s Project Management Body of Knowledge. Nader is on the core team responsible for creating the 7th Edition, due out in August 2021. It promises to be a radical departure from its six ancestors!

That’s why I wanted to speak with him about the PMBOK Guide 7th Edition. Of course, everything Nader says is his personal opinion and not the official opinion of PMI / PMBOK 7 team.

A while back, I asked Project Managers in a couple of forums what material things you need to have, to do your job as a Project Manager. They responded magnificently. I compiled their answers into a Kit list.
