Over the next few lessons, taught by Bobby Harrison, we’re going to focus on playing both rhythm and lead guitar over a Texas Shuffle, using our Stevie Ray Vaughan inspired, 12 bar backing track in the key of E.

Similar examples can be heard on “Pride And Joy”, “I’m Cryin’” and “Tell Me” from Stevie Ray’s now classic debut studio album “Texas Flood”, as well as on many other live and studio recordings throughout Stevie’s career.

Our rhythm guitar part combines a walking riff with a percussive offbeat feel. It requires a lot of muting with both hands which, when done correctly, can produce a very full sound.
