I make a distinction between a Rain Bird BlackBird and this cheap plastic sprinkler. The original Plastic used by Rain Bird is called delrin plastic. I do not know what kind of plastic is used in the cheap sprinkler, but the quality is crude at best. I also make a comparison about the sleeve/bearing design used on the original sleeve design with the brass insert in the plastic. Then you have the actual brass design which I make the visible comparison between the cheap Melnor and an expensive professional Nelson wedge design. There is an amazing difference between the two. I also make a comment on the wedge arm which was brilliant. I do not know who did it first, but smart when it was designed.
