Financial or economical euthanasia in pets. A lot of people asked for my opinion on this topic, and here it is. Humane euthanasia is such a sensitive and delicate topic in general, and then when you throw finances into the mix things get even more emotional and sensitive.

Personally, I don’t like the term “Financial Euthanasia,” since every case of “financial euthanasia” ALWAYS has a medical component to it. And as mentioned in the video, the VAST majority of vets you will ever interact with as a pet owner don’t own the clinic they are working at, and thus have no control over how expensive things are, have gotten, or will continue to get. Most of us are just trying to do the best we can for your pets within the broken systems animal hospitals have to operate within.

And for the pet owners who do feel guilty out there: as long as you provided the best care for your pet within your means and showered them with love, you can NEVER be considered a bad pet owner.
