Penrose Myers and his Oak Ridge Stand at Gettysburg

Tim Fulmer Gettysburg Guide

Over the years there has been an abundance of souvenir shops in Gettysburg selling everything from postcards to T Shirts to battlefield relics. But many people are unaware of one of the first souvenir shops at Gettysburg. A prominent citizen and well know jeweler, Penrose Myers, would establish the Oak Ridge Free Museum and Souvenir and Refreshment Stand. The stand was located across from the observation tower erected on Oak Ridge. The Myers stand would be active for over 25 years. Today there is little evidence of it its existence. However, using vintage postcards, I was able to find the approximant location of the Myers souvenir stand. I have documented my search with this video. I appreciate your watching it.
