Penn State at Ohio State 2006 GAME STORY

Arc-Lite

There was no way in the world Penn State was supposed to win this game against a top ranked home Buckeyes team. Ohio State boasted the Heisman Trophy winner under center in this one, and with all of that said, the Nittany Lions found themselves well within reach of this game until about three minutes left in the fourth quarter. Two picksixes for the Ohio State secondary in the final minutes put the nail in the coffin. But Penn State showed it was equal to Ohio State overall throughout the rest of the game. It was a physical battle and a defensive struggle, all of the things we have come to expect from a Big Ten heavyweight matchup. And in the end, it was another tough one for the Nittany Lion faithful to swallow.

Penn State's Top Performers:
Tony Hunt: 24 carries, 135 yards
Sean Lee: 11 tackles
Dan Connor: 8 tackles, 1 Int.

Penn State falls to a 22 record looking to bounce back after a tough beginning month to the 2006 season. Ohio State would go on to play for the national championship and ending the season with a 121 record with their only loss coming in the Fiesta Bowl against Florida.
