This video is a condensed time frame of a 2014 Nissan Xterra hood being chemically and mechanically stripped due to failing paint; and then being repainted its factory color Hippo Grey (K26). Many steps have been left out (color match, cleaning, tack, stat gun, epoxy, flash times, paint, polish, install) in order to save time. This is a common problem on every make/model of vehicle and can occur for a variety of reasons including factory flaws, poor body work, inadequate prior refinishing procedures, and even natural elements such as excessive UV damage. The ONLY fix is to completely remove the layers affected by the damage, which most often require a complete strip, repairs if needed, and a repaint to restore it back to its original state. Enjoy.
