Baladi dog is making up for lost time and enjoying her new relaxing life with two doting Mara friends.

Not too long ago Baladi was living in Cairo, Egypt and suffering abuse on the streets while her littermates and family were slowly killed. Her torment ended when a kindhearted person stepped in and saved her when she was struck down in the street by a car and left for dead. She eventually left Egypt and came to America to being a new life.

Maras mate for life! It's important they stay with each other. These two; although I just got them are already very bonded with each other very much.

They're very smart.

They make look like rabbits, but they don't act anything like them.

Their adult weight is around 2035 pounds and they're body length is about 30 inches!

They are herbivorous and should have a varied diet.

They are in the genus of the cavy family, but they are the only representative of the Dolichotinae subfamily.

They are a LARGE rodent, similar to a Capybara.

They are prey animals to foxes and raptors mainly in the wild. Humans also kill them to use their skin for rugs and blankets.
