The passenger side footwell may have water ingress due to a clogged sunroof drain (   • How to Fix a Sunroof Leak  Range Rov...  ) or in this case, a warped cowl causing water ingress through the AC duct. Unfortunately, the AC duct intake is in direct line with the bottom of the windshield, so a warped cowl or overly flat windshield wipers may allow water to seep into the AC duct while it rains, leading to a significant amount of water in the footwell that submerges a wiring bundle and may cause significant electrical issues. We will fix this by replacing the cowl and modifying the duct.
