"We're going to need a bigger crane." You hook up the cables from the crane to the remaining half of the steeple. You cut the steel girders. You try to lift. You exceed the capacity of the crane and cannot lift. Someone underestimated the weight. Time to call in reinforcements. There is a high wind warning for tomorrow, so this has to be finished this afternoon.

Temporary steel plates are bolted across the cuts in the girders to hold the steeple in place while the first crane is disconnected and the larger crane is connected. The swap goes smoothly, and the larger crane finishes the steeple removal.
