In this video we take a bone stock toyota avalon with blown struts on the Oregon Backcountry Discovery route to see if your run of the mill grandma car is good enough for a overland trip. I'm bringing super basic camping gear, communications, and friends. We'll be dispersed camping for free on public lands and cleaning up the forests as we go. What else do you really need for overlanding?
We did this trip as part of the Gambler 500 rally, which is basically a cheap car challenge where you navigate backroads and off road trails in super cheap cars and pick up trash to help take care of public lands.
