Join Team Rubicon for Operation Golden Grizzly as we deploy our Greyshirt volunteers to tackle wildfire risks in Grizzly Flats, CA. From April 19th to May 20th, 2024, our mission is centered on intensive fuel reduction, hazard clearing, and creating defensible spaces in areas severely impacted by the 2021 Caldor Fire. Our dedicated volunteers are working to remove dead and burnt trees, expand fire department access, and enhance evacuation routes to protect the community against future wildfires.

The Caldor Fire’s devastation, which destroyed over a thousand structures, underscores the critical need for proactive wildfire mitigation in the region. In partnership with the El Dorado County Resource Conservation District, we are addressing highrisk areas still burdened with debris and fallen trees to safeguard the remaining homes and properties.
