Ooey Gooey Butter Cake


1 box yellow cake mix
4 eggs
1 stick butter (melted)
1 teaspoon vanilla
8 oz cream cheese softened at room temperature
2 ½ cups powdered sugar

Preheat oven to 350°
In a medium mixing bowl add cake mix, 2 eggs, vanilla, and melted butter. Mix well using a hand mixer to incorporate and set aside.

Spray a 9x13 baking dish with cooking spray AND line with parchment paper.

Pour cake batter onto the parchment lined baking dish and smooth evenly.

In a separate bowl, combine softened cream cheese and powdered sugar. Mix on low speed with a hand mixer until well combined. Add two eggs and blend until the mixture is completely smooth and incorporated.

Pour the cream cheese mixture over the cake mix layer and bake for 3540 minutes until golden brown. The cake should have a slight jiggle and mostly set when it’s removed from the oven.

Immediately after the cake is removed from the oven, lift the parchment paper gently from the baking dish and place the parchment paper onto a wire rack for the cake to cool completely this will take 1 ½ 2 hours. Once the cake is completely cool, cut it into squares. Enjoy!
