By car to the beach and over long stretches along the sea ... that is a very special pleasure.If you take a few things to heart.

What could be better than waking up to a sunrise by the sea? Fall out of bed directly on the beach, breathe in fresh sea air, let yourself be lulled to sleep by the sound of the waves in the evening ... and, of course, fill up the day in between with a trip along the sea. Not on a promenade, but directly on the beach. In many places in the world you can drive on the beach for free. Sometimes only for a few kilometers, elsewhere hundreds of kilometers could be reeled off. In Australia or Brazil, the locals' weekend program includes being on the sand; in Namibia, a drive through the sands of the Skeleton Coast Park is one of the greatest adventures you can experience there.

The sea should also be respected on its shores. There is the salty air that clogs the car, there is the surf, which inexperienced people underestimate and dare to get too close to the sea. The rising tide causes the still dry river to swell and thus blocks the exit, at another point quicksand is underneath
the harmless surface for a very nasty surprise.

Therefore the recommendation: a beach holiday is a great thing, but only with the right preparation and equipment. Anyone who travels alone and cannot rely on the spontaneous towing help of friends should be careful when traveling. A pair of sandboards, a shovel and a jack belong in the luggage in case the beach does not behave as expected.
