Benchmarking the nVidia Geforce GTX 1080 Ti against 13 games using an average gaming PC in 2023.

Former flagship graphics cards rarely go down as “great value”. Halo products like the x80 Ti and x90 are known for pulling out all the stops, with small matters like “materials cost” and “power consumption” at the bottom of the priorities list. By the time they’re a couple of years old, their performance no longer wows, their heat and running costs become prohibitive when compared to more recent midrange offerings, and the bulk of their MSRP has wasted away.
The rare exception to this rule appears to be the GTX 1080 Ti; now that retail prices have been sent into the stratosphere and VRAM is the buzzword of the year, picking one of these up in 2023 could be a smart decision. They can even do limited ray tracing!
