When it was first released, the longrange missiles were waaaay overpowered. They have since fixed it. The Ai actually uses its radar jammers and notch missiles. Now those longrange missiles are dodged mostly. If you shoot them at high altitude I have found you have better success. You first need to strategically remove the radar of the enemy or they will just launch longrange sams at you all day long.
