Note [thanks to David Danos in the comments]: The "Great Slave Lake" has a name that the local Dene nations abhor. There are big efforts to change the name away from 'slave'related exonyms. The Deh Cho Dene nation is just one of the four nations in whose territories this lake is found. The others are the Tłı̨chǫ, Tetsǫ́t’ıné, and Dëne Sųłıné.

CORRECTIONS:
Since Alaska is part of the continent of North America, it's more accurate to say the Northwest Angle is the only part of the 48 contiguous states above the 49th parallel north.
