Wikipedia lists the Nissan Leaf as having a constant gear reduction of 7.94:1. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nissan_...)

I counted the gears on the Leaf gearbox. When I did the math, I got a gear ratio of close to 8.3:1! Did I count wrong or do the math wrong?

By manually spinning the gears in the gearbox, we can physically count how many times the input gear spins vs. the final output gear. When I did that, I got slightly MORE than 8 rotations! Looks like my math was just fine!

A 2013 Nissan Leaf gearbox DOES in fact have a gear ratio slightly higher than 8:1!
