Nissan LEAF bent wiper linkage fix

Nissan LEAF (2019) bent wiper linkage disassembly and fix. (Same part for 20132023 so I suspect this will be similar on all years)

Wipers stopped working again on our Nissan LEAF so I tried to fix it myself again. I think I've outdone myself as far as poor video and audio quality (sorry!) but hopefully this is still useful for someone. The repair is quite easy and basically costs nothing (I suspect a dealer wouldn't simply straighten the linkage and instead would replace it (288003NF0L which appears to be $155USD) plus I suspect 1 or 2 hours of labor). During the video, I tried to turn on the wipers after only finger tightening and it didn't work. Turns out that the torque setting is relatively high (best I can find, Nissan specifies a torque setting of 17 ftlbs for some of their other cars (I wasn't able to find a recommendation for the LEAF specifically). Other manufacturers recommend 20 ftlbs. In either case, when I got home (didn't have a torque wrench with me when I was doing the fix), I was WAY below 1720 ftlbs. You have to tighten a lot to get to that so if you have access to one, use a torque wrench.

To stitch the video, I used VSDC Free Video Editor
