In only 40 minutes, or less, cooking time, you have an amazing crispy skinned, tender, juicy whole chicken. This is an easy, yet incredible, way to prepare a whole chicken. The technology of the Ninja Speedi is such a gamechanger and does what no other appliance can do. It does everything well!!

Recipe:

Rinse, clean out and pat dry a whole thawed chicken ( 4 6 pounds). Make sure the giblets are removed from the cavity.

Spray the entire bird with oil (olive or avocado) and generously salt and pepper all sides. Although optional, I like to use an additional seasoning such as Cajun, BBQ rub, etc., in addition to the salt and pepper.

Directions:

Place the rack into the Speedi on the LOW position. Add 1 cup of tap water to the pot. Place the chicken into the pot BREAST SIDE DOWN. Set the pot on the Steam & Crisp setting at 400 degrees (f) for 40 minutes. Close the top and press start.

After the timer reaches 20 minutes remaining, open the Speedi and turn the chicken over to the breast side up. Close and continue cooking. With 10 minutes remaining, open and begin checking the internal temp of the chicken looking for a target temp of 165 degrees (f). Once temp is reached, remove the chicken and allow to rest for 10 minutes before serving.
