I love doing an endoftheyear reset and refresh! Come inside a typical morning in my life having breakfast in the kitchen with my oneyearold, Milo. While I’m sharing, I go over my big plans for the day — I’m going to one of my favorite salons in NYC for a major hair transformation!

For the longest time, I’ve loved my long hair because it’s healthy and fun to style. I was really enjoying it until recently I had one of those moments. You know how it goes. I thought, “I think I want to chop my hair…” and then, from that moment forward, I couldn’t think of anything else until I ultimately decided that I simply must cut it — and today is CUT day!

After breakfast, I take you into my bathroom, show you my current hair situation, and share my plans for the transformation. I have always had the same length of hair without any layers, so I gathered some hair inspo and decided I wanted to chop off a few inches to get to a collarbone length and add soft, faceframing layers with curtain bangs for texture. I figured that varying lengths and angles would be a fun change! I've heard pros and cons of curtain bangs, but I decided to give it a go.

For the cut and color, I’m going to MC Hair Salon & Spa in NYC. Before we get started with the haircut, I meet with the owner, Meagan, for a consultation. I share my hairstyle inspo, but I still like to defer to the hair colorists and hair stylists for their opinions since they are the experts. We decided on a cool mediumlength haircut with a bold (but blended) balayage in bright, buttery, golden blonde.

I end the vlog with some thoughts about my 2022 new year's resolutions and how those held up. 2022 was my first full year as a mama and I finally was able to achieve a few of my big life goals. I want to make sure that, as you're setting new year's resolutions, you don't put too much pressure on yourselves to achieve all of your goals immediately. Major goals take a long time to achieve, so just go easy on yourselves! Happy new year to all and I'm sending you so much love.
