Milwaukee Tool Storage Cabinet Milwaukee continues with their goal to be innovative with the introduction of a new High Capacity 46 in. 18Drawer High Capacity Tool Chest and Cabinet Combo, model number 48228546. Their storage solutions are designed to be rugged, functional, durable and contain organization options that DIY'ers and professional's need on a daily basis. Durability in an affordable tool cabinet can be hard to find.  Milwaukee Tool included heavyduty soft close drawers slides and large 6" greaseable casters. This Milwaukee Tool Storage Combo has 16 drawers that are 100lb soft close slides and 2 drawers that have a second set of slides which enables them to support 200lbs. Altogether the new 46” Steel Storage Chest and Cabinet can support 2,500 lbs. The builtin power centers now include two USB outlets.  The pullout work surface is much deeper allowing for better use of a laptop or documents.

Steel Storage Assembly 
Milwaukee packaged this unit very well and there should be little chance of damage in shipping. Unboxing is just removing layers of corner supports and Styrofoam. Be prepared to recycle a lot of styrofoam and cardboard! We found it best to use the packaging materials and tilt the cabinet on its side to allow for the installation of the casters. The handle, bump guards, cord holders and mats are all easy and quick things to put in once the casters are on.

While you are installing the small items and removing a drawer to run the power cable, take a look at the build quality, powder coat is everywhere.  The bracing and build quality exceeds any of the other units we own including many that are more than twice the price of this unit.

When it comes time to lift the storage chest onto the cabinet, grab a friend.  The chest is too wide to get a good grip alone and it is not worth getting hurt or scratching up the unit.  Every bolt or screw hole matched up perfectly and we did not have any issues with the instructions or assembly.
