The new BMW M2 is HERE, and we’re putting git up against some of its biggest rivals! The question is, does BMW’s smallest M car have a chance against the likes of AMG, Audi & Porsche?

Well, it’s time to find out! Starting with the Audi, it’s powered by Audi’s glorious 2.5litre 5 cylinder turbo engine that can produce 400hp and 500Nm of torque. This power is sent to all four wheels via a 7speed automatic gearbox. It weighs in at 1,570kg, and if you’re looking to pick one up it’ll cost you around £54,000.

To its right we have the recently revised MercedesAMG A45 S. It’s packing a 2litre 4cylinder turbo under the bonnet that can put down 421hp and 500Nm. Power is sent to all four wheels via an 8speed dualclutch gearbox, and it tips the scales at 1,550kg. It’s a bit more expensive than the Audi, too, costing around £63,000.

On the far side we have the Porsche 718 Boxster GTS. It’s the most expensive car here, coming in at £75,300! What’s more, it’s also the least powerful car here, with the 4litre naturallyaspirated flatsix producing 400hp and 430Nm. This power is only sent to the rear wheels through a 7speed dualclutch gearbox, however, it’s also the lightest car here, coming in at just 1,435kg.

Then finally we have the allnew BMW M2. It’s equipped with a 3litre twinturbo straightsix, and as a result, it’s the most powerful car here, putting down 460hp and 550Nm of torque! Just like the Porsche this power is sent to the rear wheels only via an 8speed automatic gearbox, and a new one today will cost around 1,720kg. However, it’s by far the heaviest car here, tipping the scales at 1,720kg!

So how will this one play out will the weight difference prove decisive? Or will the M2’s extra power push it to victory? There’s only one way to find out… LET’S RACE!
